To forgive someone means to, "give up resentment of, or claim to requital for wrongs committed against us. To cease to feel resentment against (an offender).
Stepping into a place of darkness(unforgiveness), carries with it a certain amount of "false comfort". It's a place where we "deal" with how we have been treated, in secret - privately; and it's often in that darkness where we make decisions as to how we handle the pain of unforgiveness. The funny thing about unforgiveness is - it doesn't matter if you are the one who needs to forgive, or the one who needs to be forgiven, your future is often designed there -" in the darkness".
John 3: 16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.
For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him.
He that believeth on him is not judged: he that believeth not hath been judged already, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
